Break-In for a new Engine? (New Owner)
Hey guys, Ive been watching the site for a long time now and Im finnaly gonna get my '05 Berlina on thurs of this week. I thought Id ask you guys about break in period. How long does it take the engine to safely bed in? Also, would you guys reccomend keeping it under a certain RPM? Any help is appreciated. I know the dealer will tell me this, but I want a second opinion... :P Oh and is it true this might be the last year for the s2k?

MANY PPL SAY THE BREAK IN PERIOD IS UP TOO 1000KM - 3000KM BUT THE BULLETIN FROM HONDAY SAYS IT CONTINUOS TO BRAK IN UNTIL 23000KM ! SO IT REALLY DEPENDS, BUT U R TALKING UP PULLING THE REV HIGH THEN I GUESS 1500KM JUST TO BE SAFE, THE RPM I SAY BELOW 4000 SOMEWHERE AROUND 3500 IS A GOOD TIME TO SHIFT FOR COLD START MAYBE LOWER.

600 miles, according to the manual, before you rev above 5-6 rpm.
