well with the mustang rockin some 20s...its just a proven fact that, like the little glow lights on the hoods of civics...it'll go faster...you know..like waaay faster... J/k, but seriously, i think it could be interesting...the stang should launch a little better, and it should be a close race...it depends on the drivers...and the stang is heavier...so its hard to tell i'd say...i don't think either will "smoke" eachother..

Hard to say, I beat a '03 GT with my AP1 a few weeks ago, but both cars are different in this case.

Manual Transmission 05+ GT should be a drivers race. Anyone can win.

Auto Transmission 05+ GT. S2k should pull about a car.

Auto/Manual Convertible GT. S2k should pull at least a car if not more.

Im speaking from experience.

EDIT: This is if they are all stock.

Dosent matter. It has 20" rims. That just completely screwed up the mustangs chance and its gearing. Because of that launch will not be very good. Might get you by a hair off the line, but after that it is all stewie.

20'z???
Reality ain't godd'a lot'ta'doo with the way some folkz think, doo'itt?
'Real nice selection . . . if yer idea'uv appreciatin'a performance car is sittin' in a lawn chair with'a beer'n admirin' it while it looks cool in yer driveway.

'Always felt that modifyin' cars wuzz'a lot like puttin' up Christmas lightz: some folkz jus' plain shouldn't be allowed ta make any decision in either area.

All'a these X vs. Y contests're so much magazine fodder.
The differences between any'a these rides on the dragstrip, on'a roadcourse'r goin' down to Depot fer lumber is not a one-ability gig.
It's the whole package'n how that whole package suitz your personal purposes that'z the only end result that's gonna best serve yer needz.

Then . . . whutever it izz that'z won that particular real-life approach to vehicle selection . . . yuh take it out'n drive the snot oud'uv'itt.

I say you race him and tell us the times; the 60', 1/4 mile time and trap speed.

Your other option is to race him and tell us who had the faster autoX time.

I guess you have a third option, but it will be expensive. Head to your closest road course and tell us who has the faster time.

These of course are your ONLY options because street racing him WOULD BE COMPLETELY STUPID!!!!

After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

yeah i wasn't thinking about racing him in the street at all..........
i'll just drive 154 miles (2.5 hours) to the track, buy a helmet, and pay $20 to get on the track for the night and race him then....

that makes a lot more sense.... right?

I can tell you for a fact that a stock s2000 vs a converible mustang gt (the new ones) the s2000 will win.. I know this cause I raced one and I beat him by about a car lenght.. I also raced a LEXUS LS430(06) and beat him by half a car...

Personally I wouldnt waste my time with it. But if it's fun for you then go for it absolutely.
Really no big mouth guy is gonna direct my life for 2 seconds much less a full day.
I beat my car up on MY terms..
Yesterday morning this kid pulls in front of me in a new evocivaru (one of them anyway) and the thing was wheezing and popping and whining all forced injectioned up to the max. Quite a spectacle really and I suppose I was supposed to go after him but I just enjoyed the show as he sped off with a crazy cophonphy of noise, smoke and rubber!

Yeah.
That kind'a entertainment'z 'most alwayz available in this over-populated armpit'a the universe too 2.
Mama n' I took a midnight spin out to pointz west where, when yuh pull to a stop, yer listenin' ta nothin' but the cicadaz. No matter how many timez we do that, we're alwayz amazed at the difference twixt it'n where we put our shoes under the bed.
But after all that, on the way home, twice we had some road-goin' ditz tryin'a impress us with their . . . well, fer all the noise that wuz goin' on, it couldn't a been their speed, as that wuzzn't nothin'da write home about. I guess it wuz jus' a couple'a casez'a "Hey! Look'itt me!".
But, as we're so blessed with that mentality here'boutz . . in both cases, some like-thinkin' zit-factory took-up the challenge'n . . well, 'least they didn't hurt 'emselvez'r anyone else. But it sure'z hell wuzzn't fer lack'a tryin', y'know?

'Muss'a been hell bein'n ol' time gunfighter.
Probably din't get much sleep, probably shot more'n'a few folkz whut were jus' 'bout'ta ask the time, n' likely hadd'a do yardwork jus'da pay fer the bulletz.

There are drag strips in my town, why does everyone automatically think when someone ask's those question's they think of street racing. Whenever I have a all out debate with somebody, I say "lets take it to the track!" sorry my 2 cents. Nothing is better than out running a mustang at the track, everyone see it.

So what are the chances but the next day the kid tucks in behind me, same time same place. My God the awefull racket of that turbo and blow off valve was insane! I could hear it REAL well with the top down and him 4 inches from my rear bumper. Everytime he shifted it sounded like pushing a knife into a tire. I could NOT live with that racket. Not for a second.
EDIT: Last time I let someone from behind push me into nailing it was around 1970, At night driving the 64 LeSabre with the 364. I took off like a raped ape, two ton's of steel roaring like an avalanche, till the guy behind me put on his cop lights and ticketed the hell outa me! Oops..

This was not an automatic assumption, see the post below. That is where our information comes from.
