New got a couple ??

I am thinking of getting an S2K, I was wondering how is the reliablity? Gas mileage? and insurance? Allso is it easy to get more power out of it with some bolt-ons? I have owned several hondas and never had any problems. Thats why I am concidering this, I want a decently fast car I don't have to worry about working on all the time.

Reliability is Honda all the way. Compared to your TT, well there's no comparison. Just put gas in it, change the oil regularly and enjoy.

Bolt ons will yield little to no gains. This engine breathes about as well as it's going to from the factory. Look at it this way... what bolt-ons would one need to take any other NA 2L to 240 hp (or 2.2L in case of the 04/05s). You can do a few things to reduce weight some, but generally, you won't be leaving other S2000s in the dust if you decide to mod.

For significant gains, you're going to have to look at forced induction.

Insurance. Too many variables, age, driving record etc. The insurance on this car is comparable to other roadsters. If you're male, single and under 25 it's going to be pricey.

I thought that was the case, I really would'nt want to FI a S2K, I have heard they are hard to get tuned right. I think I may just go with an A4 Quattro and runs ATP's kit, my friend has been running the kit for about six months and nothing can touch him. Plus all that power and you can still carry five people and baggage. There new kit ran a 11.9 in the quater with all stock parts excpet the turbo kit itself. They maybe the way for me to go. Because I can buy the car and build it for the price of just the S2k.

How's the durability on those A4s when making that much boost. Other posts I've read by A4/S4 owners have been somewhat negative in the durability of the internals.

That said 'nothing can touch him' is a relative term right? I mean, you can spend 6 digits on a supercar and still get walked by a properly built Civic.

the S4 have problems blowing turbos because they get to hot, not good enough cooling such a small car with a V6 twin turbo in it. the A4 1.8t is very relaible under boost, I am not sure about the 500HP+ but my friend Adam has been runniung the GT28RS kit on his A4 for about 6-8 months 20PSI everday, and he dosen't ever take it easy, plus he races in on the weekends, so between him and another guy I know with 425-450HP out of it they seem to be very realible. I know my TT has been, not that modded but I have 147,500 on it and it drives like it is still new.
