my car won't go into reverse!!

Anyone had this problem??? I Just traded my 2004 mazda 3 for an 01 s2000 yesterday..I love the car..it runs beautifully and I have had no problems with it untill this afternoon atfer I tired to back it out of my garage..and it wouldnt go into reverse..it would only go into 6th..there was no grinding nothin..it was like the gear dissapeared..

I did try going from 1st to second and then reverse, and even 1st to reverse..nothin..normally hondas are synchro clutch and like 1st to be hit before reverse...HELP!!!

Really stupid question, so ignore if this doesn't apply, but you ARE pushing down on the gear selector when putting it into reverse, right?

If that's not it, is it possible to let your car roll forward or back a bit in neutral (i.e. you're not on hill)? If so, you might try to let it roll a bit forward or back and then try to engage reverse again.

2 crx's a ford explorer, and I just traded my 04 mazda 3 in for this car
i got a relaly good deal i think...my mazda 3 +$2500 so basically i got the car for $24000 Canadian?

godo deal??
