What your price range?
This is a must.
but ideally force induction is the best way to do it, but it'll run you like 5G.
others mod before FI are just waste of money.

if your goin to go forced induction on a s2k that makes no sense. with a 11:1 compresion your goin to be super low boost. unless your planing on doin some major mods to get your compression down to bout 9.5:1. do ur full exhaust and headers, change your vaulves springs and retainers and cold air intake

Sounds like you have no clue about FI or at least with our cars.
Best Performance Mod: BOOST
Best non Performance Mod: Upgraded sound system

Sure this may be old but what would everyone say are the top 5 mods to do to the S?
Performance?
Aesthetic?
For me performance:
1. Driver
2. Forced induction
3. Brakes
4. Clutch
5. Gear ratios(I've heard this is a worthwhile mod)
I'm really just throwing the last 2 out there, I have no idea.
Aesthetic:
1. Sound
2. Suspension
3. Wheels
4. Oem lip(if not equipped), keyhole covers
5. My auto dim rear view mirror with built in garage door opener. or shift ****.
This is really just my favorite things I've done.
I think it also depends on what model year you have, I upgraded to ap2 door panels and love those but it wouldn't be a mod for an ap2 driver.

Damn Java... the subject line was "what are the best MODS" not "what are the best MEDS!"
oh wait, I guess MODS applies to you too. Damn.

Those $25 S2000 JDM intake pipes go on ebay every now and then. Just slap on a K&N 3" cone air filter to it and boom. Instant intake for around $60! Makes the car GROWL through vtec and you can really feel the response. Don't really feel any gains but I did notice a couple more mpg.

Best mod under $1000, Hankook RS3's hands down. (in fact I think you can still get them for under $600) Add a bigger front sway bar with the difference saved and run circles around cars 4 times the money.
Least cost with most return, reduce unsprung weight of the car.

The best modification is the one done psychologically by embracing yourself not to change anything and keep everything OEM as much as possible,
first trying to learn how to drive
