S2k back window

Hello every one another new bee here . Im going to buy my s2k after I get married in march and I was looking to buy a 01 or a 02. I know the 01 has a plastic window in back can I upgrade that to a glass window if so can you give me the name of the company that sells it.

Thanks

You can't simply change the window itself because it is smaller and the top folds differently to accomodate it.

You can change the entire top for an 02+ but it requires some minor modifications to your existing top frame (a few rivets basically. The top will cost anywhere from $600-800 new. You can swap out the whole top/frame/motor with no modification at all. This setup is about $1200-1400 usually used (from someone who installs a hardtop permanently. There are good threads at www.s2ki.com on how to do the swap.

I would imagine the difference between used 01 and 02s in price would not be worth the trouble.

no its not possible because the way how it is fold is different thats what ppl from the past said. the easiest way is to change the whole top u can go to "hardtop guy" and they sell the new soft top!

Yep. The way the top folds, the plastic folds right in the middle (which causes that awful crease). You can retrofit the 02+ softop on 00-01 with some minor modifications. Search S2Ki.com for details... there is a thread with illustrated instructions. Takes 2 days.
