Second----Let me express a slightly different view than most.

I will be buying a new s2000. I will not be drag racing it or installing
excessive modifications. I plan on enjoying it every sunny dry day I can.

There is a reason for my purchase. My first car was a 1974 Fiat 124
Sport Spyder. (bought used in 1977) I would still have that car today
if it were not for reliability/parts issues. The car was beautiful and I actually enjoyed keeping it mint. The best reason I can give for desiring
the car was it "engaged me". You needed to wring it out a bit to get it
going but it made great sounds when the DOHC hit it's powerband. It handled well and looked great standing still. (Like all Classics!!!)

The S2000 is all that and RELIABLE. On paper there are many cars
that have similiar or better #'s but few with the same combination
of simple Classic looks, sex appeal and purpose. My short list also
included the Porshe Boxter "S". I drove it and it delivered the goods
on most points as well. However after sitting with the sales rep and
"paying" for metallic paint and watching the delivered price get close to
$60,000 I got cold feet. (I could never spend that kind of $$$ anyway on a car with an interior that butt ugly.) Enter the S2000!!! At half the price
and all the goodness. I knew I had to have one when I took my wife for a test-drive and almost snapped her neck on a lane change!!! I think the car was jealous, but either way you see you must be "engaged" to drive or be a passenger. I would not have it any other way!!!!!!!!!!!!!
