Want to buy a new S2000
HI everyone, this is my first time posting on this forum and I would like some opinions about the money i should pay for a 05 s2000. I just came back to test drive the s2000 and I really loved it. How many of you got a good deal?..and by the way I live in southern California...any good dealerships?
Thanks everyone and I am looking forward for your opinions! |

I would start here:
http://www.hardtopguy.com/store/cust...103&cat=&page= This is a dealership in the midwest (Ganley Honda) who will do 30,995 and has a west coast dealer as part of the group. I believe its central coast somewhere... check the link. In the least, use it as a bargaining chip at your local dealer. |

I just bought mine today for $29,266. You might not be able to get that price though; here's the story:
I submitted a request for price quotes on edmunds.com last night. I got contacted by all three dealers by email or phone today. One of them offered a price of $27,915. That's about $2000 under invoice, and they had the right colors, so of course I went to the dealer right away. However, they said that they mistakenly got the "7" and the "9" interchanged, and they meant to quote me $29,715. To try to make it up to me, they cut out most of the dealer holdback and gave me the $29,266 price. So, did they purposely interchange the digits to get me to the showroom and sell something to me at the price I got? Or was it an honest mistake on their part, resulting in me getting a $500 better price than they would normally have given me? Either way, I think you ought to be able to get something at or below $30k. I do recommend going to edmunds.com and getting some quotes. |

I can almost guarantee it was a bait and switch. I mean, c'mon, this is what these guys do for a living LOL. You think they don't know what EVERY car on their lot is worth. However, it is winter so better deals are to be had for convertibles. Also, now that the S has been out for going on 5 years, there are plenty of used ones available competing for the new car buyer.

I just came back today from the dealership and the sales person offered me $31400.00 plus tax. MSRP is $33526.00 and he said that thats the best deal i can get. I thought it was ok and was ready to get until they screwed me with the trade in. The trade in price was ridiculous that i walked right away!
