the dumbest ?'s

Ok I can't take it anymore! I have been trying to figure out some things on my own but its not happening. I am on a steady approach to becoming a member on this site for a year now and there are still some kindergarden things I can't figure out! SO..... I want to start a "dumb questions" thread so that we can have an outlet in getting a dumb question answered. I hope I am not alone. I have a few to start....

- my number 1 question... WHAT IN THE HELL DOES "BUMP" MEAN?!!
- what is the difference between autoXing and tracking?
- am I the only one who STILL has to read Java's posts two or three times before comprehending it?
- what does "ttt" mean?
- how do you multiquote?

Extra credit:

- DJJSR - Is "Hooterville" a real city? I chuckle everytime I see your location.
- Java - what is that avatar?? I can't make it out!
- Pablo - how did you get your face on Yoda's body?
- SXYS2K - are you engaged to another member on this site?

Like I said I tried to figure out all this on my own but I finally had to swallow my pride and ask for the sake of not loosing my mind. Don't laugh too hard.

I feel better already.

- my number 1 question... WHAT IN THE HELL DOES "BUMP" MEAN?!!*****bring up my post--when someone types that in it brings the post back to the front page

- what is the difference between autoXing and tracking?****autox is usuallly in a parking lot with a bunch of cones and a marked out course; usually low speed (as compared to tracking) with handling and precision of utmost importance----tracking is done on a race track

- am I the only one who STILL has to read Java's posts two or three times before comprehending it?****probably not but if you can understand Jersey, it is actually pretty simple. he is good at it.

- what does "ttt" mean?*****tax, title, transportation fees as related to the price of a brand new car

- how do you multiquote?****when you bring up the post you want to quote you will see a QUOTE button and next to that half a set of " quote marks. hit the " quote mark and then go to the next post you want to quote and hit the " quote mark, and just keep on going and quote everybody and eveything.

Extra credit:

- DJJSR - Is "Hooterville" a real city? I chuckle everytime I see your location. ****It is on Green Acres.

- Java - what is that avatar?? I can't make it out!****It is a jackass on a mountaintop with a backpack drinking a cup of coffee from a Sierra cup. google java junky and then hit google images for a larger picture. java is on sabbatical.

- Pablo - how did you get your face on Yoda's body?***photochop, i bet. pab will have to answer this one.

- SXYS2K - are you engaged to another member on this site?***it is the rumor that i have heard.

Like I said I tried to figure out all this on my own but I finally had to swallow my pride and ask for the sake of not loosing my mind. Don't laugh too hard.

I feel better already.

ok, joe. there ya go.

bb

http://s2000.com/forums/off-topic/45...otoshop-2.html

posts 34 and 35 will answer a lot of questions.

i apologize, it is not a jackass but an old mountain goat. might as well be an old jackass though. miss my man java junky.

After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

I'm gonna really explain what all this confusion is about.....take note..

Uhummm.....

Bump means " The Bump " 80's dance thing ( bums actually touch )
Autoxing and tracking are things to do with lego
Java's post have to be read backwards, and exchange the "I" s with the "T"s and you'll be fine. It helps if you own a ventrilaquists dummy, ask him !
ttt means...that tranny thingy ? ( parts left over after an install )
Multiquoting ......is when you tell everybody in the office at one time how much its gonna cost for you to get coffee & donuts.

As for the "extra credits"...........you on your own there bud !!

Yes, I received an e-mail from him over the weekend. I tried to encourage him to come back, but haven't heard back from him.

Me, too, but he's done for now. He might check in now and then, and see what the mood is like (his and ours). Different without him, and the word association thread died...
For the record, though, I don't think he talked Joisey, he talked Dogpatch. And sometimes Pirate...

Good Qs, Joe, kind of a primer on some of what goes on here!

he did speak a bit of the rum numbed pirate tongue, but for the most part i think it was Joisey. I have a certain familiarity with Dogpatch and he don't sound like country mountain folk; leastways not the folk in the mountains down in these parts; way too many deezes and zees in general.

BB you missed one of the abbreviatons, ttt means "to the top" its used the same as bump.
Javas avatar is correct for his screen name since a goat herder discoverd coffee. He noticed his goats would get very active after eating berries from a particular bush. So the goat herder tried them himself and was seen jumping around with his herd. The locals said he was "danicng with his goats." The arabs were the first to roast coffee beans.

So where did he go? Sell his car, or just get sick of posting?

He didnt sell his car and he didnt get sick of posting. I think it has to do with the direction the site is now going.

i agree that ttt means "to the top", but when purchasing a new car it refers to "tax, tag, and title" fees. the transportation fee, or freight is usually added into the price of the car or shown separately; that, i believe, was my error.

a lot of old goats drink coffee. they won't let us drink anything stronger anymore.
