87000km car maybe check for the mantainence record, see if u can buy extended warranty still (if they will offer one). Test every gear and clutch, check the soft top (drive it with windows down see if there is noises).

Honestly, I would go for the 02 or 03 s2000.
1-You get rear glass window with defroster 2-slightly differrent interior you get tweeter now with leather shift wrap 3-tailight now have aluminum trim (this is true if you lookcarefully) 4-tranmission are slightly tune for smoother shift 5-if you are an s2000 enthusiast like me you'll surely notice a different between 00,01 and 02,03. Seriously take a closer look, you will!! I like the 02 and up better than 00 or 01. You can get 2002 s2000 for around 22K U.S. dollars with about 30K- 50K miles, this is worth the money believe me. Just look around you will find good deal. I'm going to be getting an 03 s2 in like 2 months, and I've been and s2 fan for over 2 years, so I know what I'm talkin about. LOL, I hope this help. |

That's a lot of miles (km). Guessing 2 or more owners?
Either save a bit longer or pay a bit more every month but I agree with going for an 02-03 with ONE owner and <24K miles. |

i appreciate for the inputs. Any huge scheduled maintainances at around 86000km? like timing belt, water pump, tune-ups, etc?

Yes, a lot of maintenance is require if you want the car to perform as good as new.
1. Belt - 2. Tranmission fluid - 3. Mostlikely new Clutch, - 4. Maybe Alignment - this alone gonna run you over 1,000 us dollars, that doesn't include labor. |
