Advice needed:about to buy

Hi, I am new here, having just surfed in. I am in the process fo buying an s2k from a friend of mine. It is in awesome shape. 2001 model with less than 9,000 miles on it. Garged. Any idea what a good price is? Also, what kind of oil does this thing use? I've read awesome reviews about the car. Anything I should know?

average price in my area right now (Los Angeles) ranges from $20,000-$25,000 with mileage ranging from 23,000 to 40,000. To find one with only 9,000 miles on it is a great find. However, how much is he asking? Also do carfax and take a look at all service records. Hope this helps.

With that low of mileage, I'd say if you take it away for under 20,000 you're doing good. Under 18 and you're a magician!!
