driving without soft top cover

anyone have longterm issues driving without tanneau cover in place when top is down? i need storage space for hockey gear. have had my s2000 (switched from an M3) for a couple of days, and it seems pretty solid. thanks.

I don't use my boot cover, but after 4 years, I am starting to notice that where the inside of the top is exposed, it's starting to fade to gray. Other than that, I've had no long term effects going coverless.
