Sound System - Needs more base

Hello Everyone...

Just picked up an 04 S2 leftover and I have to say each time I drive it I like it more and more. Howver the bass response in the sound sysytem is just not quite there. Looking for a suggestion for sub woofer without going crazy. The system covers the high notes just fine looking for a balance.

you best option for more bass is to go for a 6-8inch tube sub design with built-in amp mounted in the boot.. They are a compact design so it wont take up much room and if you do need the room they can be easily removed.. check out the audiobahn website.. they have a few on there for you to check out

I have a 8" JL audio sub with a 450 RMS Kicker amp. That turned up about half way up and with dynomat, you'll have good bass response and resonance. It sounds pretty good throughout all types of music.

Re: Sound System - Needs more base

You might get the bass you want by upgrading the front speakers, as the stock ones in the 04's are still pretty crap (but way better than the 00's!). I put a pair of 6.5 Boston's in and can make my mirrors shake now.

Not quite the bass from a subwoofer, but didn't loose any trunk space or have to install an amp, etc.

JL Audio makes a 10" sub with the box called the "stealth". Its specially made for the S2000. It fits in the tool compartment in the trunk so it won't take up any space. Mount the amp on the inside of the trunk lid. You can put it under the cloth to hide it from theft. The sub hides in the tool compartment and you can't see it unless you open it. So you won't lose any room, and your safe from theft.
