Baby needs a new pair of shoes...

I've just gotten a new (to me) 04 S2000, and after 22K miles the previous owner has chewed up the original rear tires pretty well. I'm looking for advise on tire selection, maybe even upsizing to a 255/40/17 from the stock 245's. I need to find something that will have good grip, get a lot of miles, and not be outrageously costly (I'm trying to get somewhere in the $125-135 area each) Any suggestions? I've had good luck with Yok AVS-100s in the past, but I have no experience with this type of car. Thanks for the insite guys and gals!
