Only half? Frankly I think its more like 90%+ The 6-speed gearbox of the S2000 is widely regarded as the best production car gearbox made. And the WHOLE thing about the S2000 is driving with both hands, both feet and being "one" wth the car.

In other words, if you don't want a manual transmission, you do not want to buy an S2000.

I suggest you look at something like a used SLK 320 or I think they make the Z4 with an auto. Maybe a miata? I think those have an automatic.

This car only comes with a 6MT tranny. It is arguably one of the best shifting transmissions out there. The throws are perfect, the clutch is perfect, it's just perfect.

Might I interest you in a Cadillac Escalade? That comes in an automatic standard.

you should consider the Mercedes SLK. They are almost all auto. They are a tight car, and if you are not worried about performance numbers, get one of those. If you are worried about performance, depending on your budget, you might be able to get an SLK32 AMG, which has decent performance with an auto. The problem with a car like the S2000 and an auto is that in order to get a good launch for a run to 60 or 100, you need to launch around 4500-5000 RPM, and that is difficult in an auto, with the exception of a brake stand, and that will tear the rotors to shreads in no time. Look at Mercedes, they have always made good cars with auto transmissions. Also look at the Audi TT 3.2 with the CVT transmission...that automatic is AMAZING!
