my FIRST s2000/dealer/warranty story:)
hey everyone!
well, on wednesday, I was gonna go to work....went to put the top down and it everything was fine except that my top going down made a little extra noise....no problem! sunny and 70 degrees...when I get to work and put the top up, I'm horrified to see that my plastic rear window was cut in 2 different places! I get out to look and they are both about 6-8 inches long each, irregular cuts. One vertical around headrest high pass. side, the other looked like a "V" ...after people at work look at it, they all say someone messed up my shit the night before or something. I call my salesman, who happens to be my roommate's good friend. he sets me up with a thursday 11 am appointment. I pull in and the service girl, the salesman and the warranty clerk all standing together waiting for me. They look at it, determine they have never seen anything like it happen by accident or on purpose. So they decide to call American Honda. The rep. at Honda basically saidthat my extended bumper to bumper warranty won't cover it and since I have a 2001 with 49K on the clock, it's out of original warranty. So I think I'm screwed until he calls back 2 minutes later and gives the O.K. for a "Good Will" warranty claim. Something like, since the plastic tearing by itself usually never happens or is heard of in normal top operation, they will replace it 100 % and get me a rental car Stuff like this is why on my on 5th straight Honda/Acura |

did they replace the entire top? I spoke to a covertible place here in Tallahassee, and they said that it is all one piece and you cant just replace the rear window (?). I just bought mine from a local Honda Dealer here in town, used with 44k on the odometer. It came with an extended bumper-bumper warranty, as it is a certified car. There is also a slight tear in the top just rear of the diver side window. I was wondering if you know if the top is covered under the extended certified warranty. I can also barely see out of the rear window.
