I was wondering is the s2000 classified as a high performance car?

if you mean a supersports car like lamborghini ,porsche and ferrari

I don't think it is...

come on it reach to 100km/h at 6.1sec

but personally I can classify my car as a Pussytrap :P

I dont't mean like lambo's and ferrari's(wish i had one) I mean like the mitsubishi lancer evolution as the insurance company says is a high performance car. I wonder if the s2k is a high performance car because if it is i will have to pay more for it, insurance that is.

hımm no idea about what insurance company consider S2k in US

I think it should be high performance car

I just bought a 2002 S2000 and w/ my current ins. company am paying about $1200/yr, even though I am in my mid-30's with a great driving record.
(Prob gonna get worse with this car! Cuz it begs to be driven fast!)
I plan on shopping around...seems a bit high.

As far as insurance is concerned, yes, this is a high performance car. But, the RX8 is also considered a high performance car to some insurance companies. So, your liability insurance will be higher. Your comprehensive will also be high because parts for this care are rather rare and therefore expensive. (Not as overinflated as a BMW or MB though).

Yep, classified as high performance AS FAR AS INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE CONCERNED. Furthering my search for less expensive rates I had an agent inform me that cars are rated on a universal rate scale from 1-27 (27 being the highest in performance). The S2000 is a 24.
Ferraris, Lambos, and actually MB SL500 are 27.
