05-300 total miles, engine seizes...your thoughts? UPDATED&g

Is that weird...

When I left the Dealership with my brand new car, I never thought that I would be towing her back 2 days later because of the engine seizing (in neutral, at a stop light). Anyone ever heard of this, yeh...neither did they.

Im trying to find out if anyone ever had issues with the factory warranty approving an engine replacement.

The dealership said that it was a defective cam bearing. A specialist came from the motor company to confirm that. The gave me a new car because a new engine was 1 1/2 months out and Honda wanted the entire motor back.

Been part of the S2000 community since 01 and have NEVER heard of a car doing that. Things that immediately come to mind are:
1. Enough oil?
2. Break in period not followed (i.e. redlining, especially when cold before 600 miles are up).
3. Is it really 'seized' or is it an electrical or fuel system malfunction (does the engine refuse to turn over but you can hear the starter motor grinding away?)

Anyway, hopefully when they interrogate the ECU it doesn't show a whole bunch of redline shifts before the break-in period was over or they might not cover it

i dunno what it is like i n u r country, but in canada it is nost likely it will be covered by the warranty, especially a new ebgine like this, i don think redline shift is a problem, but if u over the limit (RPM) all the time then it is a problem.
