... hello. i'm a newbie from switzerland and my english is not good at all. but i try..
every car i bought was a honda.. and now i drive a yellow '99 civic type-s. i fell in love with the s2000 in 2001 and i want to buy my s in january 06. my question is: how is the s2000 on the street? is this car difficult to drive? i'm a "little racer".. and i don't want to crash the car in the first 2 weeks |

As far as difficulty goes it just takes a little getting used to... for me anyways, I've had a few moments where oversteer around corners was slightly scary, but I have since found the right timing and balance of braking and gas to keep me on a fast, yet safe, line. If u like to race this car will not let you down. It won't be hard to find someone who wants to try you either, it seems like everyone that pulls next to me revs up to see if I'll bite, even those damn Z-71 chevy drivers want to try you. This car feels as if you are catapulted from a sling shot when you really get on it! My suggestion is GET THE CAR <<--emphasis; not mad caps. It is a very easy driver in traffic and on the freeway. Just drive it on the calmer side for the first week or two to really get used to it, then ease yourself into crazier hairpins. The last thing you want to do is crash it; ever. Here's a great and accurate quote from an article I recently read: "Indeed, S2000 has always felt like a car on a pace lap -- impatient, desperate to be cut loose and urged faster. Even when you intend to lope along slow neighborhood streets just to get someplace, you find yourself stretching out the gears, goosing the throttle, playing slalom with manhole covers." |

Street;
Ain't no surprises driving the S2. Like all other vehicles, it's got this neat input transmission device on the right side of the drivers footwell. You step on it and the car goes. You step on it further and the car goes faster. It's just a matter of applied common sense. Learn the car by driving it cautiously for a good amount of time before you start stretching it's legs.There ain't any magic involved. It's all a matter of keeping a leash on yourself. Best of luck. |
