new owner question about '00 model

I recently purchased a '00 S2000 and absolutely love the car. I have one question though that I'd like input on. When I decelerate with the clutch engaged I hear a loud noise and accompanying vibration between 3000-4000 rpms. I disengage the clutch the rpms drop of course and the sound goes away. Is this typical and is there a specific way to reduce this sound?

Thanks, Bruce

If you're just coasting as the engine declerates you and it is the tune of a fairly loud hum then thats one of the wonderful sounds of the car, enjoy it!

Commonly referred to as clutch buzz. It is a common problem.
I'm pretty sure this is caused by the springs in the clutch plate. It only sounds bad and does not adversely affect the car at all.

Upgrading to an 03+ clutch *may* help solve the problem, although I can't guarantee it (depending if the springs are the same or not).
