air pump
Hi
I bought crashed s2000.It's repaired now,but still missing air pump located in left front of car.Car runs and drive without this part.Guy in Honda service told me that this part only heats catalisator and works for 2,3 minutes after staing the engine and i don't really need it.This part is very expensive in Poland (1000euro) so i wouldlike to wait until i find used one and it can take some time. Can someone tell if something can hapen to my s2000 if i drive for one ,two months without air pump? what is the role of this part? thanks |

Hey
umm how to explain this, basically your cat need to be heated to work properly, so by using the air from the chamber in the cylinder head, the pump, pump air to the cat. and this is controlled by the computer in the car, if i am not wrong beside it works when u start u r car for the first few min it also work when the comp think the cat is cooled down, then the comp will turn on the pump to get the air into it... |
