Transmission Noise

I've had my S2000 for about 2 months now and I notice a strange noise comming from the transmission below 4000rpm and a strange vibration noise that happens at exectally 3500rpm in every gear. The noise below 4000rpm isn't quite a metal on metal but sounds more like ball bearings that need grease. I also get the sound pretty much anytime I am decelerating while in gear. Any Ideas?

Hi,
the problem you are talking about is very common, many of my fds who drive s2k also got this problem, but is normal, there is nothing wrong with it. some claims that if you change the transmission oil then the problem will be solved. but if the sound gets louder and louder and louder then there is a problem, other wise it should always be like what u've experienced and is normal.

i have it too. real annoying. it is normal from what i understand, but on early models i heard of them replaceing a spring under recall in the clutch area of the car that solved a similar noise. I am not sure of the noise they speak of and have been really not that interested in dealing with asshole dealerships over the issue. hope this puts at ease that someone else hears it.
