is synthetic oil good for the F20C? "s2000 motor"

i have heard from some that sticking with what the factory provides is the best way to go........ but i have also heard that synthetic oil much better than conventional...... can someone tell me what i should do if i want to protect my engine the most. If synthetic is the way to go should i go with Amsoil or Mobil 1?

if ur car is abit old then synthetic is good, but if is new then wait for after 18000km, however if u stick to the 6000km change oil then it won't make much difference ... any oil is cool ... unlesss u race u r car all the time then maybe fulll sythetic is better

I agree. Wait a few thousand miles and then either switch to a synthetic for the coolness factor or stay with dinosaur oil to save some cash.

The kind of oil you use isn't going to prevent catastrophic failures. For example, an injector clogging causing a lean condition in one cylinder, or insufficient oil getting to the bottom of the piston because of the old style banjo bolts. The theoretical advantage to fancy oil is in less wear. But, engine wear isn't something you see until you get into the 60,000 mile range on the odo and above (unless you don't change your oil regularly).
