s2000 type r?

hi i am 15 years old and am in search of a s2000 for my first car i plan on modifying it with jdm performance upgrades while searching through the ocean of jdm parts i found a mugen ecu that said s2000 type r ecu does this mean that in the land of the rising sun and where the car was born it has brothers that are type 's?

there is no s2000 type R. In JDM land there's a Type V (only real difference being that it's got variable ratio, speed sensitive steering) and the giore (different colour and textured interior) also gold bbs rims, but thats it. Mugen make an ECU, but this 'll fit any s2k.

S2k type R

I don't know if this is true but it would be nice.

In 2005, they are supposently coming out with an S2 type R. V6, 300hp, 2 inches wider at each fender well, supposed to run 12.7 stock, and be the sencond best handling car under $100,000. Its going to sell for $45,000 but i don't know if it will ever get to the states if infact realeased in Japan.

This was a hoax check out the English version at:

http://www.mcclatchie.com/reviews/S2000R.html

there's quite a few threads on this already on s2ki like this (the guy who posted it even admitted it was a hoax):

http://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthrea...threadid=76184

sorry but no type R exists.

type R

Even though I'm asian, i still don't believe a damn thing that they say in China, Japan, or Taiwan. Why don't we go there and buy a Rolex on the side of the road for 10 dollars? No type R and oh yea don't believe everything you see on the internet or you will fail school. GG Don't do drugs.

s2k type R

The car in the pic is a S2000 type V which is only in Japan. It has variable steering, better suspension, and a different interior including the VGS steering wheel. Then there is the Modulo upgrade package which includes 17" rims, exhaust, even better and lower suspension, and better brakes. I was just in Japan and made sure that I went to all the Honda places and directly asked about all the S2000's. I have all the Japanesse pamphlets if you don't believe me.

Although I wish there was an S2000 Type R, there just isn't one.

and kevin, maybe your friend has a wide body kit and a supercharger which gives him a little over 350 hp. there's no need to lie.

As an officer of the S2KCA, I took a trip to Japan with 13 other S2000 owners and met the engineers who designed the S2000. Honda was kind enough to set up a gymkhana course for us at Twin Ring and gave up a VGS S2000 for us to drive. The only difference between the regular S2000 and the VGS is the steering wheel and the steering. The S2200 exists as a one-of (actually two; Mugen has one and the other is in a museum at Honda) that Mugen stroked (I think that's the right term?) to achieve the 2200.

Sorry, Kevin, I think your friend slapped an R on his car and some false information on you.

Snowbebe, we didn't get to do the Spoon thing, but our group did get a tour of Mugen. It was a seriously cool trip!

Now this is just plain misinformation. Like many have said, there is no type r. I've seen a few hooked up to look like them, but they were track cars, and not built by honda. As for seeing another gen of the s2000, the 04 model is the last we'll see for a while. Honda is currently moving towards the higher end of the spectrum with their HSC NSX concept. The s2000 will fall wayside, and may be developed again in a couple decades...
