You are not suppose to use Vtec until after 600 miles and then only 1000 rpm per 100 miles up to the full 9000 redline at 900 miles.
Make sense?

My S2000 was still loosening up at 10,000 miles.

The S2000 handbook that Honda give you with a new car.

Where does it say 15,000? I guess by 'continues to break in' you mean the parts are still wearing. In that case, the car 'continues to break in' until it is finally junked and crushed in a salvage yard, be it 15K, 150K or 600K.

then what is the proper millege?
i say whatever i found from the honda bulletin released by honda, i remember someone mentioned before too, and for the use of sythetic oil, ppl should also wait after that tooo.. i know it sounds stupid, but i think that is the best method for u r engine to not to burn oil (it still burn but not as much)

I've yet to see any Honda Bullitin stating the conditions of break-in milage and rpm's. I've run my new '05 hard from the beginning, and at 2,000 miles now the oil level has not changed a bit.

That seems reasonable. It'll be hard to keep away from redline once the high rpm cam engages though.

I stand corrected. My '05 Owner's Manual states (page 100, "Break-in Period) that to properly break-in the engine you should aviod reving above 5,000 rpm for the first 600 miles.
