Is your S2k your daily driver?
Searched the forum and couldn't find a post. Got to wondering at work today so I figured I'd ask. Is your S2k your daily driver? Let us know if it is or not.
Mine is. I cant afford another car right now for it not to be. It never gets more than about 13 miles a day though so thats not too bad. I do on the otherhand use my wifes brand new Lancer GTS often, just to save my baby the miles. |

My s2000 used to be for a year and a half. Started at 33k and ended(as my DD) at about 54k. Now that I'm paid off and started to put more fun stuff on, I bought a beater.

I swear I don't know why people keep asking about the S2000 as a daily driver. It's so cheap now. You can get one for around $20,000. A freaking Prius costs more than it. Needless to say, it's not a Limbo or Farrari.

Mine is a daily driver if the top will come down. It goes to bed for six months on Oct. 31 and comes back out to play May 1. My Civic covers for it in the off months.

Stewie is my DD during the summer and sunny days in the winter. She's an '02 I bought 13 months ago with only 26K miles and I've put just 10K in the the time I've had her.

My stewie is not my daily driver, to work, however after a day at the office, I am out with the top down. So in that since I drive her daily. The good part is that I live near a buch of nice roads with lots of twisties. I do take her to work now and again on a very nice route with plenty of twisties.

Don't have to work no mo' so don't need a DD. Use it when I want to usually in top down w/x- but am at point where I can drive it when and where I want- as the other vehicles. don't expect to put more than 5-6K a year on it so when/if I sell it it'll be a low milage '04 ( and NO, buzz, I don't want to take $500 for it right now)

Its cool to know so many others have it as their DD. And to answer about the search, I searched Daily Driver and nothin came up.
Also wanted to point out, even if their cheap, their still hard to find compaired to civics, mustangs, cameros, etc so its like a Ferrari to me! I dont know of another owned in NE and the dealers told me that from what they know, only 25 have sold in NE and some of those were from out of state buyers (no idea why). |

It was a cheap price cause of NE heh. Actually got my S2k in Chicago though (fun flight let me tell ya, crying babies, fat men on either side, people who don't know how to bathe. And we wonder why people never fly). Once I got there, I found it to be in mint condition, had only a slight dent on the inside of the door from a buckle being slamed in it. It had 34k miles (its a 2004). Payed 17,900 for it all said and dont with the flight, hotels, gas, and food (wife came too, she can bathe :P). I thought it was a pretty fair price considering the local dealers wanted me to buy a 2002 for 18,200 and a 2005 for 21,400. Its highway robbery at that price.

DD for sure. 25mi each way. Mostly freeway, but I pull of the occaisional 'alternate route' in the wine country
After years of driving a practical car, I figure I'm due some fun. Besides, I couldn't imagine 50 miles daily in a beater (not pickin on folks with finance issues). Do other DD get pretty good gas mileage... 2 years and I probably average 26+ mpg. |

Stewie was my DD for 7 years and 145k miles before I bought a beater 6 weeks ago. In those 6 weeks, the beater has had over 4k miles put on it.

If so what would I do for stress relief? Use the old mini van daily and to lug kids, dogs etc. Stewie is one of the few places I can have some space to myself

Depends on what my daily drive is and the weather. The S doesn't go to jobsites or get driven much in the rain. But since the truck only gets 16mpg (on premium) the S gets as many miles as it can.
