Any Comptech Supercharged S2000s near Charlotte, NC?

Just purchased a 2005 S2000. Its not quite fast enough for me, so I am considering a Comptech supercharger. I can't justify spending $6-7,000 on a supercharger without at least getting a test drive. Is there anyone in the Charlotte, NC area who would take me for a short test drive? I don't have to drive. Just 5 minutes to feel/hear how the car drives.

Also, where is the best (least expensive) place to purchase the supercharger and who is reputable in Charlotte to install it?

Thanks

Jason

Thanks for the reply. What do you think of the Comptech Supercharger? What RPM can you feel a difference? Is it worth $7,000? Where is the best place to get it?

thanks

The price is lower than you think Chuck Evans of Evans Honda in Newport Tn, Got the Kit for a darn good deal. I dont have his number but it will be in information in Newport. I am currently out of the country and have not driven my car yet with the install, however my brother took it and got the install done by chuck for me. I have waited almost a year so I could get chuck to tune the car while I am gone. This is what my brother says. Until the VTEC kicks in the car drives very close to normal after it VTEC's "this thing is a rocket" he sent me a video clip of a run from 55 to 101 in the car. I think it was about 9 seconds to get up there. He did a bad shift on 4th as well in the video. The audio clip sounds like a blower more than anything else. I will be in town for the s2000 dragon ball run and then gone again. You could call chuck and get the spefics on the kit and the install. He did install for me and I still came out cheaper than buying straight from Comptech. I can send you the video. Email me and I will send it to you. roger.grice@us.army.mil found his e-mail address
it is evansautomotive@charter.net
Hope this helps

I agree 100% with that explanation. My sense of it is that it does not transform the car into something it was not. What it does is make the engine even more like the Jeckel and Hyde that it already was. I can feel a difference from about 5,000rpm on. In first gear 5,000 to 9,000 goes by so fast because of the linear increase in boost you will have trouble keeping it from bouncing off the limiter. Second goes by just about as fast. It's 3rd and 4th where the SC will let you pull away.

I spent 5K on the kit (order from out of state to save tax) and had it installed at Comptech for another 1200. Is it worth it? That is very subjective, but for me it is. I bought the S to have a 4 wheel sportbike and the SC for the same reason. As far bragging rights such as $/hp or $/ET in the 1/4 it is totally NOT worth it.
