Hey guys is there anyway to make the tonneau cover be controlled automatically and synced with the power top?

Aay D;
Pay attention fella. You're only a few steps away from payin' someone to drive you aroun'. 'Feelin' any urges for Gray Poupon? Key, ignition, n' seek ye some turns. Tonneau, guano. You're jus' parkin' it too much. Be well. |

I'll agree with you on the non-necessity of the tonneau.. i just think it be cool to have an electric tonneau as an added bonus especially with a nice tonneau like the carbon creation one or the veilside one.

I dunno D, it goes without sayin' that everybody's got their own wannas to satisfy, but puttin' weighty "luxury level" add-ons in a car that's as nimble, light n' quick as ol' Stew seems similar to startin' out with a Rolls-Royce n' strippin' it of all it's amenities to try n' make a corner carver out of it.
When it comes to our little Honda friend, I seem to gravitate back to the same basic solution to so many of the puzzlements that seem to cloud my mind when I'm not drivin' it. The solution? Get in, start it up, put the top down n' go find some good turns. Like alotta good pilots, it's easy to be focused n' clear when drivin'. It's when we're on the ground that we sometimes get ourselves in trouble. (Although, we definitely have the ability to find trouble in the form of offendin' the local gendarmes when we're behind the wheel too) But, hey . . I've been guilty of some pretty dumb ideas in my time, so I ain't pointin' any fingers. Sometimes you jus' goddadoo whucha goddadoo. Y'know? Good luck. Keep us posted. |

Nowadays i like the phrase "less is more".
It's a strange thing, but while i'm getting older i like it more hardcore while with many it's the other way. I guess i'm just clinging on to my youth. But i can understand the other point of view. Nothing wrong with that. |

It is also worth noting that convertibles with powered tonneau covers take a LOT longer than 6 seconds to drop the top. This is because the tonneau cover has to move first and then the roof and move the cover back.
Cars like this usually take over 20 seconds. |

Y'know Matt, I hadn't even thought of that aspect of it. There's a (probably warped) smug satisfaction in bein' able to pop the top up when you stop for a light, while all about you are wishin' you major downpour because of their own inability to go topless. I wouldn't lose that ability for damn near anything. (of course, all of my prior experience with ragtops havin' been with the archaic "set-the-main-bar-in-place, spread-the-spreader-bars, n'-spend-the-next-15-minutes-streatchin'-n'-snappin'-the-top-in-place" system that was involved with owning an Austin-Healey might've jus' tainted my views on convertible tops a wee bit)
6 seconds ya say? Damn. (I hear Mugen's got a chip that can get it down to 4 n' a half. Top racin'. It's inevitable) Be well. |
