Check the switch on the lights. Sometimes it's on but the lights stay off until the lights are bumped. After that, the rubber covered switch in the door jamb.

The door switches won't turn the light on with the door closed but they will sometimes not turn the light on when the door is opened due to a bad connection in the switch. What will turn the light on is the switch at the light being slightly out of position. I would slide that switch back and forth a couple times and if nothing improves spray some contact cleaner into it. Make sure it has no hydrocarbons which will damage the plastic. TV tuner cleaner is the best but not very available.
