Hypothetically Speaking

Yeah, yeah . . for a Ford man I know I've been defendin' the Honda marque a bit strongly, well . . at least as far as ol' Stewie goes anyway. But I keep havin' severe cases of "whutiffs" . . like every time I go to pull out n' l'il Stewie accelerates like a blue-hair in an Olds deuce n' a quarter.
Whutiff we could somehow stuff a Mustang powerplant under the bonnet? (Somehow I'll bet that halo has all the spec on this already) But realize that this is the kinda warped n' troubled thinkin' that got me into my 'Vette/Healey 24/7 involvement. But, then . . isn't it the same kinda thinkin' that got ol' Carrol into his Cobra problems? But it's intriguin', izzittnott? C'mon guys . . a communal "hmmmm".

on s2ki there was a user who said he was trying to stuff an LS1 (corvette engine) into the s2000. Many people thought he was all talk. I don't know what became of it.

Yeah, I gotta admit I was pretty much givin' ink to a daydream. Truth be told I haven't opened the hood but to check the oil, n' my initial inspection when I was buyin' it. So, would the engine bay have the capacity for anything bigger'n the engine it was designed around? Dunno. But, again, I've gotta think that as they were tryin' (pretty successfully, I might add) to keep the excess of anything (includin' space) down to a minimum, the extra space required by a V-8 wouldn't be there without considerable modification, if it was possible at all.
Until I can jus' pull a can of Low End Torque down from the shelf n' pour it in the tank . . I'd better jus' go out for a ride.
Be well guys.

It's a Buick. It's a Buick deuce n' a quarter, not an Olds. Sheesh! @*#&in' cobwebs!

Yeh, I remember that LOL. I think it became clear real quick he was about 16 and probably did not even own a car, much less an S2000 to mod with a small block. People started calling him out on all sorts of details and the thread just died. Though, I'd like to find that thread again for a laugh.

Just want to be the first to say that beating the S2K is not saying much.

Haven't seen a V8 conversion in an S2K, but there are some Miatas out there with V8 swaps.

Yeah. I'd heard about the Miata/Ford when it was jus' goin' together n' from what I remember, while they did, in fact, shoe-horn the engine into the car, they couldn't keep the combination from self destructin' long enough to make it fly. N', again, from what I remember, there was a considerable amount of backin' involved so I figure that they gave it a few good tries before puttin' the paddles away n' shuttin' out the lights. One minute it was the next Cobra n' the next minute zip. Hey, at least they gave it a shot, right?

When I was readin' about the proposed swap, back aroun' 2000 or so, they (evidently not the Bullet folks) were tryin' to just make the necessary room (probably not a pretty sight) n' drop the Mustang mill into the existin' car. Needless to say, the poor Miata runnin' gear didn't know whether to **** or go blind. I imagine little piecy-parts were flyin' everywhere.
That Bullet looks impressive skinned. Not quite Ariel Atom pretty, but impressive. I shoulda know'd. You guys down under were jus' tooo quiet.
Be well.
