@*#&! That's hot!

Wussy time. I'm jumpin' in the car n' grabbin' a metal-topped shift knob that feels like somebody was jus' usin' a cuttin' torch on it. Does anyone know of a leather clad shift knob or possibly a leather cover for the stock one?
Yeah. I know . . what a weenie.

MUZ sells a leather cover for shift knobs.

The early model s2000's had a solid metal knob, however I'm sure the later ones had leather wraped around the sides of the knob. It is still possible to shift with these.

The other thing you can do is chuck a rag over the shift knob on hot days so that the sun doesn't shine directly on the knob and see if that makes a difference.

ahhh, you can't beat a good "my knob's too hot" / knob sock thread.

There's that one from Muz, or Ricks also do some.

Think the leather wrapped Alu shifter was standard in all the early years too. The all metal ones are Ti. I'll take a little extra heat to have a Ti knob

I probably keep my right, overly-sensitive "girly" hand (toasted it one time too many) on the shifter too much. It's not much, but that little bit of give that leather gives a hard knob has always had a comfortable feel to me. 'Gives ya somethin' ta sink your fingers into. (n' if any of you guys can sink your fingers into a metal or plastic knob, well . . I sure's hell ain't gonna argue with ya)
But, as much as I'd wanna have the feel of leather as opposed to metal or plastic, I couldn't deal with a free-floatin' sock on a shifter knob. If the leather ain't a fixed part of the knob, I'd hafta deal with the metal of plastic.
But, again, that comes under the headin' of "personal".
Much thanx for the input guys.
