Things actually happen in Nebraska?

Don't be fooled by the title of that thread. Things don't really happen in Nebraska. However, there is a three-day road race that goes on in Arnold, NE during early August called the Sandhills Open Road Challenge. It sounds like it'd be a lot of fun, and it'd be nice to have a small group of S's to combat the preponderance of Corvettes that show up every year. For those of you who are wondering why I'm a month late on this, well actually I'm 11 months early. Since I'm forgetful, I figured I'd let everyone know well in advance. It'd probably take 11 months to convince a lot of people that there's actually something worthwhile that happens in Nebraska anyway.

I'm planning on showing up next year if I get all this clutch/tranny rigmarole taken care of and have the vacation time and money to partake in the fun.

I think it'd be a fun way to really test the S's boundaries. It's more clear-cut and wide open than autoX, and there's a pretty wide variety of curves that get thrown at you.

There aren't too many open road races like this anymore, so it brings in people from a lot of different states.

August 6-8 is when it's all going down this year.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

All of a sudden, this is REALLY not looking like such a hot idea. I don't think I'm spending almost 4 c-notes, which could be spent on legitimate modifications and/or maintenance, to do this.

Sorry for all the excitement. I guess if you're going to actually do something in Nebraska, you have to pay out the ass to do it.

This looks just like the Silver State Classic run in NV every year.
