Clicky Clutchy

Hey all,

Anyone else ever notice a click on their clutch pedal? It happens within the first two inches of depression, and within the last two inches of release. It's definitely somewhere in the pivot point, but I'm just curious if anyone else has run into this problem. The only info I've found in searching is that it occurs in the RSX and Integra as well....which I wouldn't be surprised if they have the exact same clutch assembly as us. We'll see today I guess, as I transform into Gumby and try to crawl underneath the dash

Clueless...I can see the springs and pivot, etc....but I can't pinpoint where this annoying click is coming from. After about 5 minutes of being hunched under this tiny dashboard...I think I'll just live with it. The one thing I did learn is how incredibly easy it is to remove the seats from our cars! I think I'll be making a set of keyed bolts soon.

Spray a little WD 40 or other penetrating lubricant on the pivot points in the clutch linkage. If this cures the clicking. Then use a more permanent lithium or moly based grease on the problem spot.

your pivit pin that holds your cmc to your pedal needs to be greased.take the pin out and apply a good grease to it...

I'm pretty sure it's coming from that weird 2-stage spring that's above the pivot. It's hard as hell to get my hand under there, but I'll try to put some grease on the coils and that attachment point.

I was tempted to use the shin-etsu grease I have in my trunk, but I don't think it'll be up to that task.
