Growl In Tranny
Im looking at a 2001 stewie silverstone metallic. Any way when I test drove it, it had a growl in the tranny I mentioned it to the dealer and he said that all of them had that noise. Is it normal do they all have a noise in the tranny kinda like its winding?

The transmission is noisier than most, but a growl? I don't know about that. Maybe just in reverse and at very low RPM. But even then, I don't think I would call it a growl.

only odd noises I noticed when I got my car was some ticking at idle and the service tech said it was the injectors acting normally. No other worrysome mechanical noise, yet. 9100 miles

I've given some more thought about it. The "winding" noise you described is common for the Reverse gear. However, it shouldn't be doing it in the forward drive gears.
