You can use a VAFC or a piggyback ECU. Lowering your VTEC point some isn't a bad thing per say, but going to low isn't going to make you a whole lot faster. Going to low may put you in VTEC during normal cruising on the freeway and that will lower fuel milage considerably.
I hope that is a typo saying that you want to lower your VTEC point by 5200 rpm's VS. lowering it to 5200 RPM's. Lowering it to 5200 could possibly be done, but I think that's a little low. Lowering it BY 5200 would be nuts and I doubt it could be done.

I'll admit I'd like to see a lower RPM engagement for the cam timing change as well. Its just too close to where your revs drop during a gear change. If you are not right on redline when you shift you'll momentarily drop off the cam, which is a bit violent. To me the VTEC range is too narrow. This probably can be done with a ECU change. The question is whether it is beneficial. Advancing a camshaft too much at too low an RPM is a recipe for reduced power.

I'm with gomarlins the VAFC is what i would go with its not to hard to wire up but dont try to tune it yourself leave it the way it is until you can get to a dyno to get it done or you could really get in to a mess. Also i think 5200 would be pretty rad of a change wouldnt recommend more that 500 RPM change. But i'm sure if you get one the guys at a good "mustang" dyno could help you out with that alot better.

vtec controller....it lets you decide when you want the vtec to kick in..and no negative effects to it at all...except when your just cruising and the vtec kicks in and all of a sudden you get un wanted boost...but if ya get the right vtec controller itll have diff. settings where you can just press a button and itll change to a more stock rpm. for vtec to kick in.
