3rd gear a little notchy/clunky

Hey, just got my s2k, 3 weeks ago, manage to put 1500miles on it aready. I've own a rsxs and a sti, both stick, so I would not say I'm a novice at driving stick, not a pro either though. Well, driving this s2k, it seems no matter how I adjust my left foot to hit the clutch, or how fast or slow I adjust my right hand to shift, or adjust my seat distant for my left leg, 95% of the time I shift into 3rd gear, it's a little clunky or notchy, not as fluid as the other gears. Does anyone of this problem? I keep on telling myself, maybe it's the distance and speed that I'm engaging and disengaging my clutch, hence 5% of the time, when i shift into 3rd gear it is very fluid. Is it just my driving habit and I need to relearn shifting in the s2k, or is it just the way the gear box is in the s2k?

The S has had 1st gear to 2nd problems. A little gear grind, you know crunch 'n munch. There were service bulletins on it in the early days. Supposedly was fixed on newer models. However, I have that problem on my '05. Definitely worse in the cold weather.

Didn't know 3rd gear was also problematic. Certainly can be fixed by the dealer. It sounds like the synchros are the culprit.

My guess would be either the gear synchro or the shift fork.

Either way, it wouldn't hurt to have the dealer take a look at it.

My 06 is the same way. Not grinding or anything like that. Just a bit clunky at times or notchy. Drove a friend's 05, which was actually a bit worse. My best guess is yours is ok. If you want, test drive a brand new one and compare.
