Banjo bolts

What is a Banjo bolt or oil jet bolt? I was at " Hard top guys " and it said upgrade your Banjo Bolt. Do I need to? I have 02

I believe the '00's and some of the '01's (maybe it is through some of the early '02's) had a problem with oil not getting where it needed to be. I am not sure about this, it's is just my limited understanding of it. I guess I will have to do some more checking into it.

Was this a recall type issue or does the warranty cover it? Also how does one know if they have been already replaced (I bought my '01 at 40k miles)
