My car is ready to turn 38k and I was wondering if I should replace the plugs and wires. I bought it used from carmax and I don't know if they changed them or is it not neccessary yet?

You don't need to change the plugs if they are factory, you can wait till around 100k. I doubt Carmax would have changed them.

We don't have wires.
As stated above, OEM plugs are good for over 100,000 miles.
