I'm about to get a new S2000 in a couple of weeks, although I've been a log-time fan of V-Tech engines having had a Prelude for 6 years. I've read that running in a new car should be done using mineral oil, and not synthetic - can anyone please explain why. I ran my Prelude on Mobil 1 for 113,000 miles, including running in, with no signs of wear.

As explained in your other thread.

Just to prevent people from bugging you about it later:
V-Tech makes telephones VTEC (or vtec) is the variable valve timing system found on many Honda and Acura vehicles. Don't worry, I've done it plenty of times myself as well. Anyway, welcome to the forums. I see gm3 has already answered your question, so I thought I'd just stop by and say hello.
