It bogs from 0 because the engine is 2 liters and thus doesn't make squat for torque at low RPM. Not to bash our dearly beloved, but really he doesn't make squat for torque at any RPM

Look up the supra swap..... As Kalm said we have a strung out 2 liter. Gears will help but itll never feel like a mustang or camaro.

I was lookin' into puttin' additional VTECs in the trunk, but I can't find out where to purchase 'em.
Burnouts bam??????
Y'know . . for a sportscar site, there sure is a whole lodda musclecar-think goin' on.
Too many years'a readily available Amurican horses in the form'a Hemis, mice, rats (engines) I guess.
I know mother Honda doesn't (r' at least didn't) advertise Stewie, but it seems that alodda folks get into it without knowin' exactly whut it is that they're gettin' into.
That's the layin' out of a whole bunch'a hard-earned for somethin' that you didn't really research to my way'a thinkin'.
Kalm's description of our plight should be printed n' push-pinned up on the site home page.
Right alongside isu's cure for what ails us.
Be well folks.

I didnt know what I was getting into when I bought mine. I took it for a test drive with a friend who is a sales person. I shifted every gear at about 5500 so I am thinking the car is very slow. I was not impressed with handling one bit cause the rear tires needed to be replaced. I still loved the car it was comfortable I loved the conv just the feel of the car was perfect to me. I was very happy to learn the fun starts just a few hundred rpms past where I was.

and that's not a bad thing at all...I've never seen a stock camaro or mustang that will take a corner worth a darn...you ever see either of these vehicles being autocrossed? I spent a lot of time road-racing in the same classes these cars run and without extensive mods, they are pigs...sure they go in a straight line....just don't try to turn in to a 90 degree, descending radius curve with off-camber banking at any kind of speed...(unless you like tearing up hay bales, tire barriers, etc)

Yeah kg, 'can't really speak for Camaros, (though I'm sure the story's similar) but while the 'Stangs goin' aroun' the track haven't the finesse of Stewie (I'm bein' polite here, watch most 'Stangs go through corners n' it's all butt orifices n' elbows) but, while they may not be smooth, even all akimbo, they turn some very respectable times.
N' truth be told . . goin' through a corner all oud'a shape's a lodda fun. Pound for pound, there's little that gives this ol' Ford man more enjoyment.
Both styles have a lot goin' for 'em. The time slip's what determines the most effective. The stupid grin on the face'a the driver's what determines the most fun.
(N' believe me I've seen flix. The grin on my kisser borders on maniacal)
Diff'rent strokes.
Be well.

answering an earlier comment from someone about "Gears will help but itll never feel like a mustang or camaro." stock S2000 = > handling, < torque, stock mustang, camaro = < handling, >torque...compare and contrast...

LOL, optimistic solution. I would look into an FI package before going to this extent of fabrication. Personally take handling over straighline power anyday, is why most drive an S. Running the 4.57 gear myself, low end punch is a little better but you'll get use to it after a while.

Sell the S, buy a Z. - problem solved.

Bam, Stewie may not be overpowered, but, if you spend time honin' your skiills drivin' it, gettin' more n' more able to make use of what it does have efficiently, I think that you're gonna be more than pleased with it's performance.
That ain't ta say that down the road you might not wanna make some changes to it to further enhance it's abilities n' your enjoyment in one area r' another. Once you're really familiar with it, you'll have a good idea of where it's strong n' where it's weak. But that's down the road. It makes no sense (in my estimation anyway) to attempt to improve somethin' when you ain't makin' use of what it has to offer to begin with, y'know?
Be well.

I jus' know I'm gonna get in trouble for doin' this again.
Bu'cha godda admit . . what other site can offer discussions of modern-era sportscars, musclecars, Studebakers, Cobras, Schwinn, Western Flyer, the proper application n' wearin' of bird deposits n' cow farts with equal enthusiasm?
God bless America folks. Have a safe n' happy 4th.

Maybe I'm too young or something... my new ride from the folks was a nice shiny Huffy from K-Mart. Granted that was only 15 years ago or so

Whoa! Huffy's always been a heavyweight for the coaster-brake n' bat-turn set Kalm. N' the way you point out that it was "nice, shiny" makes points in my book.
Ain't so much a matter'a when. It's a matter'a how much it can still make ya smile.
'Z'alot ta be said fer smilin'.
Okay folks, Kalm saw n' raised a Huffy. Anybody care ta up the ante?

First mod, put on Mugen NZ dampers and practice hyper extending your cervical vertebra in linked turns, no need for more power.

I have an '06. The '06 and '07 models seem to have a lean spot in the fuel delivery between 2000 and 3000 (worst around 2750), especially in transition from steady throttle to moderate or heavy, especially right after clutching, and especially in low gears (1&2). The problem gets worse with warmer air temps: I doesn't seem to happen below 58 degrees, but is noticable by even mid 60 degrees, quite bad arou
