What should I expect?
I have my V2 and HKS cat back installed and wanted to know what type of numbers i should expect to achieve once I get a header( more than likely DC sports). And if there is a better header around that price, that would give me even more, thanks.

Chel, the popular opinions (mine included) seem to conclude that all the bolt on bells n' whistles (excepting various means of forced induction) might grant you a maximum of maybe 8 to possibly as much as 12 HP.
With the changes you've made so far, I'd be guessin' (note the stressed word), so, I couldn't really say. Whudduya think guys? 4 to possibly 6 over stock? It ain't much, but when you start out with somethin' as tweaked as Stewie's engine is, it jus' ain't an easy task squeezin' more out of it. Be well. Java

You **MIGHT** get 10 WHP from the mods you have now, but the DC will actually lose WHP. When it comes to a header for our car, you basically have to spend some decent money to get some decent gains. I would suggest Rick's as a good header that has shown to get some mid range gains.
Rick's 6 Plus Stainless Steel Header

Second the suggestion for Ricks header. Seems to be the best for the money with the same gain as to be expected from all the other 1200.00 to 1500.00 dollor ones

All the 'information' I've managed to scrounge up indicates what has been said already.
DC Sports header will actually lose HP over S2k's OEM one, and will heat up your engine bay more since it has no heat shield. Rick's header has purportedly shown some mild mid-range gains comparable to the claimed gains of headers by companies such as Spoon and Mugen. If I were you, I'd spend that $400 somewhere else, like a lighter flywheel and beefier clutch (or if you're lookin to buy the stainless DC, $650 - which would basically buy you Rick's header...and you'll get gains from his, plus retention of the stock heat shield). |
