If you don't want to experience the smell again, I would suggest not going 100 miles per hour.
Never had that problem before.

My tires get sticky and smell when I hit the twisties real hard. The same smell as when you spin the tires. Is that the smell?

Better ensure that there is not any rubbing going on. The wind over the car at speed may be pushing the car down ever so slightly and barely touching the tire. Is the new wheel/tire combo taller than stock?

WHen i first purchased my car i noticed a burning rubber smell from the rear area for about the first 3000-4000 miles and I was not doing any burn outs or going real fast.
That may be what you are experiencing. |

There is no smell like burning rubber, you'd know it if that was it, something in your hindbrain would go "cool" instead of "huh?". Or for some of us, it'd be going, "dang, that's a month off my tires..."

Are any of the wheels hot when you stop?
What offsets are you running?
