Gear grind
My 2004 has the slow clutch release valve and at times I grind going into second gear if I'm getting on it, is this normal or do you guy's think I'm just shifting too fast? It doesn't seem like it to me ( that I'm shifting to fast that is )but maybe it's the nature of the valve? It doesn't grind under normal driving conditions ( which for some of us the law dosen't really consider normal or legal for that matter ) so it's not the sinc. Maybe I should just replace with earlier valve.
Thanks in advance guy's John |

John, check on that valve/model thing. I'm pretty sure that the valve was on all of 'em, but I'm not certain enough to state it as fact.
One'a the biggest reasons for grindin' used'ta be (this is kind'a dated, but probably still applies) that our arm's jus' quicker'n our heavy legs. 'Might jus' be a matter of either slowin' down the shiftin' arm (Yeah. I know. Not bloody likely) r' gettin' a lighter, more responsive clutch pedal racin' leg to be able to keep up with the arm. Maybe. Be well. Java

Is the transmission cold or warm? Mine will do it sometimes in the first minute or 2 going into 2nd but as soon as the tranny warms up, it stops.

I have ground (grinded?) going into 2nd numerous times when trying to shift quickly and I have an AP1. The 2nd gear grind has been around since '99. I am guessing you are just being too quick.
