Question S2000 engine tuning how too

first of all id like to say that i do not yet own a s2000. i own a 97 delsol with a gsr but i will soon be getting one.i am pretty set on getting a ap1. but what i want to know is im already buying parts for it but before i buy any kind of engine componits. i want to know what will actually make power besides a supercharger or nitrous or turbo what intake is the best out there for it? what exhaust performs better? and all that good stuff. if you have any suggestons im all ears.

Hey bud,

I am not an expert here, but from what I have read on other posts, you will not get very much more bang for your buck since the S2k is already tweeked pretty well off from the factory. You will have to drop some BIG $$$ if you want it and only get still just a bit more at the wheel.

Here are a few theads you might want to read:

yes and no. From what I read comptech seems to lead a little bit but from what I understand comptechs future as a company is iffy at best.

lol,, SC suck for the s2, i custom built a turbo kit for mine and it rocks, the comptech supercharger is prooven to be better tho if your going with SC, and i dont know what that guy is sayin u need to spend alot for a lil power, for a s2 all you need is about 2oo more hp then the stock hp they give you, and if you know what your doing, u can do all that for roughly 2ooo $, compaired to hooking up other "real racing cars" lol not civics, that would be more towards 4-7 thousand.

You can not make a descent turbo setup for 2000 dollars. I thought an hour ago you said you werent turbo yet but you would be soon?

Aem ems is 1500 if you find a good deal. Turbo if youn get a descent one like a gt30r or 35r is gonna run you about a grand. Injectors will be about 350. Fuel pump will be about 100. Intercooler will run ya anywhere from 100 for a cheapy to 3 something, intercooler piping and couplings will run ya another 150 or more. Exhaust manifold is gonna be a few hundred. Downpipe will prolly need to be custom so however much the shop charges. Prolly gonna wanna go thicker hg since youre shootting for what around 400 whp? Theres another 3 to 400.

We are already in the 4k range and we havent even talked about tuning. Now I guess ya could slap in a t3 from spooled motorsports with a s-afc xs power manifold get a wideband and tune it yourself some dsm injectors and and you could do it cheap haha.

That is your opinion, not fact.

I want receipts and dyno results plus a video of the drivability on the street. This has been proven REPEATEDLY in the past to be false. For a SAFE and RELIABLE turbo set up, you will spent AT LEAST as much as a SC. You can get A LOT more gains from a turbo, but not for a less price.

Also false. I prefer the CT SC, but the Vortec has been proven to provide more WHP out of the box due to the higher boost pulley and standard AC system. If you get a 7 lb pulley and the AC for the CT system, they have equal output. Some say the installation of the CT is easier due to not having to tap into the oil pan, but that is personal preference.

If you are going to present information, please besure to state whether it is fact or opinion. The information you have provided is either unsubstantiated or opinion.

He did. In this thread http://s2000.com/forums/engine-tech-...ile-times.html this is what he wrote "im going turbo with slicks soon" so he doesn't know what it costs yet or anything about SC's for the S.
