A Little Help

Hey guys , Im going to be expecting to get a S2000 within the next month so I just wanted a little advice on what direction to go , heres my situation , i drive turbo now and I have had a all motor car before so I wanted to keep it turbo so there was either doing the turbo with the F22 motor , or swapping the 2Jz TT motor in it which I am under the impression that it cost about 16,000 without changing the rear diff leaving it stock and not being able to run high boost . So a little advice on the motor aspect of the situation .

Then it depends on the year , now if i do the swap obviusiously it doesnt matter what year except for the front bumper but that doesnt matter to me but is there any other aspects of the car that are major within the years of the car ??

Then if I dont swap the motor out of my research the 02 , 03 models are the best to get so a little advice with that sitatuion , all imput will be greatly appreciated thanks guys .

drive safe peace

Lee, get the car. Ride it aroun' for a good long while to get some idea of what you n' it r' capable of.
If, after that, you're willin' to give up the handlin' to drop a boat-anchor into it, it's your call, n' you at least had first-hand info on what you were sacrificin'.
Be well.

Ugh because of that stupid supra motor video everyone thinks it will cost 16 grand to put a supra motor in a s2000. There isnt a better between the 2.0 and 2.2 everyone always fights back and forth but no real answer.

I too have thought about turbo charging, since I use to have a turbo mr2 boosted to 18psi. I now have a 2002 s2000, and although I miss that turbo spool, blow off valve, and torque delivery, I have to say that I still love the s2k more. And after driving it around for a month and taking it through some twisties, I am definitely keeping it stock for a while. You don't sound like you are new to the import scene, but anyone including myself who have done motor swaps, knows that you always end up spending more than you think you will. Unless of course you don't care about an oem looking, clean (wire tucked), engine bay, and reliable trouble free motor (if there is such a thing in the "tuner" world). If you want torque and tire ripping launches, this isn't the car for you. I wanted something that was fun to drive from the factory on twisty roads, and a car that my wife and I could floss around town in with the top down, not something that I could break mustangs and camaros off with, so I'm more than happy with mine. If you want big torque/HP, I would look at an STI, EVO, or even a 240 with a sr20 black top or something like that and boost the hell out of it.

Why not just get a Supra turbo?? If that's what you're looking for.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

I love turbos but I would never entertain the thought on my S with it's 11:1 compression ratio. If i did want to run forced induction I would look for a 75 inch Offenhauser with eddleman injectors and a completely new and stouter drive train producing 700 hp on pump gas and 1000 on alcohol.
