Increasing Power - Little Cash

Heyy Guys,

Can anyone give me hints on how I can modify my Honda S2000 to get maximum power, with little cash? Example:

- Air Filter Kit
- Exhaust
- Mod Chip

HELLLLPPPP !!!!

Unfortunately there is no such thing as getting maximum power with little cash. The engine is tuned pretty well as it sits, stock. Almost anything (with the exception of either a turbo or a supercharger) gives incremental improvement. You might get 5 hp with a good cat-back exhaust and maybe 1 hp (if you're lucky) with a good CAI. Learn the car before you decide you want to change it, you may be pleasantly surprised to discover it has many more capabilities then you do. Most people don't drive the car to within 50% of what it's capable of.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

Hi MrS2K,

In my personal opinion only, all those little mods just aren't worth the nominal gain you'll get. The best thing you can do to improve the s2000's performance is spend lots and lots of time behind the wheel. When you get comfortable running it at it's exceptionally high limits of handling and power capabilities, you'll see where I'm coming from. There are no big gains for a car so thoroughly engineered as the S without spending some very serious greenbacks.

Best of Luck,
Jagg

The most eloquent gentleman immediately preceedin' me said a mouthful MR.
Learn to drive Stewie n' you'll extract whole bunches more from it than any J.C.Whitney add-ons'll give ya.
Save your money for things tha'cha really need. N' if you really start drivin' it, that'll be tires, brakes n' a few tankers worth'a ethyl.
Be well.

If you want to improve your times on the drag strip or track a set of racing tyres will probably do more compared to mods like exhaust, air intake etc.

Your local SCCA autoX is your best bet.

How fast do you need to go? And where are going to use it? You are getting some good advice here. Bragging rites aren't worth the money cause someones goin to go bigger than you.
