VALVE ADJUSTMENT
HEY DUDES I NOTICED THIS MORNING A LITTLE VALVE RATTLE ON START UP.IT HAS BEEN COLDER THAN NORMAL IN SO CAL AND MY FRIEND SUGGESTED A DIFFERENT WEIGHT OF OIL,RUNNING 10W30 WITH 61K ON THE MOTOR.DOES ANYONE THINK I SHOULD GET THE VALVES ADJUSTED,OR 60K SERVICE WORTH THE MONEY THE DEALER WANTS.I LOOKED ON ALLDATA AND ALL THEY SAY IS TO CHECK EVERYTHING,CHANGE THE OIL AND AIR FILTER(K&N IN THERE ALL READY).ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Yes, getting the car properly serviced is always a good idea. I'll be adjusting my valves soon for that very same reason (guess I should stop VTECing every day hah)... |

A little lifter noise is no big deal. If it quiets down after it warm up I'd let it be. IMO those regular dealer checks are a rip off. If you look at the list it is mostly checking fluids etc. Most of which you can do yourself. What dealer do you use?
