code 1456
i went to the local auto shop cus my check engine light was on the code was 1456. he said it was probably the fuel cap. but the check engine light came on about a wk after i gased up. can anyone tell me what else it may be?

yeah, had the same problem. went to autozone, borrowed their code reader, and it said it was a fuel tank leak. I bought a new gas cap, installed it, and cleared the code with the code reader, and it hasn't been back since. it's worth it, to change the fuel cap, only cost 5 bucks. the code reader was free to borrow in the parking lot. happy new year.

I had that problem with my last gas cap - it 'clicked' long before it was really sealed, so it fooled me. The new one doesn't click until it means it and I haven't seen a check engine light since. FYI, I did learn on the old one to hold it in very firmly through those first clicks, then it spun a bit and clicked for real, that worked too. Have a happy.
