Question #1: What do you mean by "SHUT DOWN"?

Question #2: Why are you screaming? Turn off the caps rook.

I know for a FACT that the last year of production of the S2000 is 2003!!!!!
After that, it will be the S2200 under an assumed name.

It's the limiter. If you have a pre 04 it should got to 9000. As long as your not over the red line, no problem.

Happy New Year!

WELCOME TO THE REV LIMITER (now stop screaming, please). You hit the rev limiter. It keeps you from doing anything blatantly silly (like over-reving the engine).

was it fully warmed up, 3 bars on the temp gauge, I made that mistake when I first purchased my 02, You have to let her warm up, and not just the engine, the drivetrain as well, and remember, it's an s2000... GT, heritage, not Drag car...

You can't get into VTEC if it isn't fully warmed up. It would have cut off at 6200.

We need to get an answer to the question of AP1 or AP2 because you don't hit the rev limiter at 8500 in the AP1. I've bounced the limiter in almost every gear and it's always in the 9's. And it doesn't feel like it downshifted. It feels like the car is hesitating or like someone is quickly pumping the brakes (but not hard braking).

Same with my AP2. No drama at all. Just holds at about 8200.

Morg, you can't get past 6200 if the car isn't warmed up. If he has an AP1 that is cutting out below redline, that might be a problem.

Yea your car should always be warm b4 u give it gas, Personally mine always just sits there b4 i move it anywhere.

and yes you found your rev limiter lol, you didn't mess up your motor. nothing to worry about, i bounce my b16a off the rev limiter alteast 5-6 times a day

proper maintenence + driving her hard = no problems

Also correction, *its not the engine that needs to be warm, its the oil .*

if oil isnt warm , you dont get all the oil pressure. even causing VTEC to not engauge
