Rear end squirly when cold?
Ok so I've noticed these last 2 months that if I 'give it the beans' after Stewwie has been sitting still for a while in very cold (under 40) temps that the rear end makes a horrible noise and the car tries to spin counterclockwise.
If you drive for maybe 2-3 miles the problem goes away. What in the world would be causing this? It's always counterclockwise btw. |

I dunno, it could be that the fluid in the rear diff is becoming quite thick from the temps which would explain the noise, but getting squirly....maybe just from the tires being so cold......

Stuff don't like bein' woke up n' hammered KT.
Allowin' things ta warm up (somethin' ol' folks seem to un'nerstan' more'n you young'uns) always seems to yield better results. N' cold tires (especially summer stickies) always doo that.

I change my differential fluid twice a year. Cold temperatures will make the fluid thick and it thins out as it warms up.

sounds like a combination of both the diff not hooking up internally , and tires with no bite. If it goes away as soon as it warms up, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
food for thought.......beatin' it less when she's stone cold will promote longevity. jagg |

On a similar, weather related subject, I've noticed that the shifter is a bit knotchy and cranky when she's cold too. Goes away as soon as Stewie warms up though. I assume that's normal too.

I agree with the thoughts of a thick diff fluid and cold tires. I drive much more carefully around corners when it's cold. I can feel the lack of grip.
